Age Impulse launches Gaitwin®, the first digital twin for gait analysis

Age Impulse today launched Gaitwin®, the first digital twin focused on walking pattern analysis, for assessing and reducing the fall risk in elderly or vulnerable people.

Gaitwin is an innovative, patented, award-winning solution. It creates a digital twin of a person’s gait, a “Gait Twin”, from data collected in just 15 seconds of walking by a sensor worn on a belt, close to the center of gravity of the body. The sensor is connected to a mobile application, powered by AI and hosted in a sovereign cloud, certified HDS (Health Data Hosting).

Based on results, the tested person may be encouraged to join a care pathway to reduce individual fall risk which can stem from different issues: inner ear, eyesight, nutrition, medications, etc. A person with a high-risk score is invited to contact an occupational therapist or remote assistance and to inform their loved ones. The solution guides the work of care staff and makes rehabilitation enjoyable, thereby reducing the risk of falls, strengthening autonomy and making progress objective.

The solution is the result of cutting-edge French research, based in particular on a prospective longitudinal study carried out for more than 2 years, and on scientific publications.

Age Impulse markets its solutions to retirement homes, remote care and personal assistance organizations, and functional rehabilitation centers.
